A Geisha Worth Its Weight: Best of Panama 2026 Tops $3 Million

Panama's famous Geisha coffee made headlines again! At the 30th Best of Panama auction, which closed September 24, the top lot, Elida Geisha Torre, a washed Geisha from Lamastus Family Estates in Boquete, sold for $18,004 per kilo (about $8,166 per pound). The 15-kilo lot scored 96.25 points and brought in $270,060. All 50 lots together sold for more than $3.04 million. Geisha's floral, tea-like magic is why we love it, and you can taste it yourself in our Royal Beans Geisha.

The trade show brings producers, roasters and coffee lovers together, with a Producers' Village, a Roasters' Village and cupping rooms. It also hosts the 2026 World Barista Championship (October 22–25), where more than 50 national champions compete. It's a fitting stage, right in the home of Panama Geisha.

Brazil Brings In a Record Coffee Harvest

Here's some good news for coffee lovers everywhere. Brazil, the world's biggest coffee grower, has picked 99% of its 2026 crop. Brazil's national crop agency, Conab, estimates the harvest at a record 67.6 million bags, up 19.6% from 2025. Better weather, more land in production and better farming methods all helped. A strong harvest from the world's coffee heartland helps keep your morning cup flowing this fall.
